The only inscriptions on the cross are 1914-1919 on one side of the plinth and 1939-1945 on the other side.

Mothers Gulf Comfort Fund to
the servicemen and women from the
NorthWest who served with the British
contingent of the Allied Forces to
liberate Kuwait
and
a memorial to the servicemen who
gave their lives
