Captain Hugh handley Sandbach, East African Mounted Rifles, formerly 12 years with 1st Royal Dragoons. 3rd November 1914, aged 36. Son of Samuel Henry and Elizabeth Sandbach, of Cherry Hill, Malpas, and Handley, Cheshire.
KILLED IN GERMAN EAST AFRICA.
Mr. Sandbach, of Cherry Hill, Malpas, Cheshire, has been officially informed that his only son, Captain Hugh H. Sandbach, late Royal Dragoons, has been killed in action in Longido, German East Africa. On the outbreak of the present war he organised and was commandant of a force of East African Mounted Rifles.
