Interesting that George Pickard is identified as being #17223, presumably so not to get him confused with 488062 Driver George Pickard, 466th Field Company, Royal Engineers. Died 8th May 1917, aged 24. Son of John William and Sarah Jane Pickard, of Pelsall; husband of Violet May Pickard, of 7, High Bridge, Pelsall. Yet #488062 George Pickard isn't named.
