Sixteen lime trees were planted in Crabtree Lane in January 1920 as a memorial to the then sixteen men from the village who had died in the Great War. A further two trees were added for Private F.Brearley and J.P.Wade(rank not known). The tree which is a memorial to G.B.Allison has had to be replanted and no plaque was in place at the time I took the photos.
G.B.Allison's tree.
The present plaques are plastic card; I presume that these are replacements for previous plaques.(?)
