9834 Serjeant Alfred Blore, 2nd King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment). Killed on 22nd April 1915, aged 28. Son of Mr. A. Blore, of 254, Broom Lane, Levenshulme.
The death of Serjeant A. Blore, of the 2nd Battalion King's Own Royal Lancasters, has just been notified to his father, Mr. A. Blore, of 254, Broom-lane, Levenshulme. Captain Cowper, now commanding officer of his regiment, writes that as Serjeant Blore was making his way last month along a communication trench he was shot through the head by a German sniper. He was buried at Zonnebeke.
