SEQUEL TO THE MAFEKING CELEBRATIONS AT PRESCOT. William Buckley was brought up before Messrs. H. R. d'a Willis and J. Stone. at the Prescot Sessions, on Tuesday, on a charge of being drunk. P.C. McHattie stated that on the night of the 19th of May, defendant was drunk in Hill-street. Defendant said he was drunk, but it was the night Mafeking was relieved, and he got a drop too much. Mr. Willis : As it was Mafeking Day, we will only fine you as a first offender ; half-a-crown and costs.
