Second Lieutenant James Albert Rae, 10th Bedfordshire Regiment. Died 4th September 1915, aged 19. Son of James Rae, of 58, Mildred Avenue, Watford.
OFFICER KILLED AT WINDSOR.
The Windsor borough coroner held an inquiry at King Edward Seventh's Hospital on Monday, on the body of Second-Lieutenant James Albert Rae, who collided with a motor-car while riding a motor-cycle in Windsor Great Park. Private H. J. Redmond, of the 3rd/5th Essex Regiment, who witnessed the accident, said Lieutenant Rae was riding too fast and could not get round a corner. The driver of the motor-car, which was coming to meet him, steered on to the grass and tried to avoid a collision. The car went thirty yards after the collision on the grass, carrying the motor-cycle and the officer between the two front wheels. The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death."
