DIED FROM DYSENTERY AT MALTA.Much sympathy will be extended to Mr. and Mrs. Mossop, of 8, Turner's-terrace, Torrisholme, in the bereavement they have sustained by the death of their son, Pte. George H. H. Mossop. News has been received that Pte. Mossop, who was a grandson of the late Sergt. Major Cartledge, an Indian Mutiny veteran, has died of dysentery in the Military Hospital at Cottonera, Malta, whilst out on service with the 6th King's Own Royal Lancaster Regt. The sad news was conveyed to his parents in a letter dated Oct. 15th, received from the Matron of the Hospital, which stated: - "I am very sorry to tell you that Pte. Mossop was admitted to this hospital last evening off the hospital ship Nevassa, suffering from a very severe attack of dysentery, and died early this morning."
