There were two rolls of honour, the first, with 330 names, dating from 1916, and the second, with 300 names, unveiled in 1920. Of the 630 names 107 had died.(Lancaster Observer & Morecambe Chronicle, 7.5.1920)

1916 Private Stephen Clarke, 3rd Royal Fusiliers. Killed in action on 3rd May 1915, aged 19. Son of Albert Arthur and Margaret Clarke, of 16, Elgin Street, Lancaster.Pte. Stephen Clarke, second son of Mr. Albert A. Clarke, of 16, Elgin-street, has been killed in action while serving with the 3rd Royal Fusiliers at the front. He enlisted in the 7th Battalion along with other Lancaster lads, and after training at Falmouth they were drafted to the 3rd Battalion. One of his comrades, Lance-Corpl. J. W. Iveson, notified his death in a letter. Stephen Clarke was an old boy of St. Thomas' School. He was only 19 years in age. Killed in action on 8th May 1915, aged 22. Son of Mrs. Cooper, of 13, Dye House Lane, Lancaster.
