At the close of a case at the Old Bailey, Mr. Justice Darling called back a witness, a Canadian soldier, named Frederick Wade, and questioned him about his service record. Wade said that he was in the 12th Battalion of the Canadian contingent, and was promoted to sergeant after he arrived in England.
