PEACE. Reception of the News. MANIFESTATIONS OF JOY. The news that peace had been proclaimed reached Borth about 9 o'clock on Monday morning, and almost all the houses at once displayed flags, and bunting was thrown across the road at several pints which made the village look quite gay. A procession of all the school children paraded the village during the day enlivening the air with songs. (Welsh Gazette and West Wales Advertiser, Thursday 5th June 1902)
