A CHESHIRE WAR MEMORIAL. - On Sunday morning, at Northwich Parish Church, in the presence of the Cheshire Volunteers, Yeomanry, and a representative congregation, Col. Sir Thomas Marshall unveiled a bronze tablet in memory of the 15 Northwich men who lost their lives in the South African war. The men's names, regiments, and an emblem of flags are engraved on the memorial, which is surmounted by the Northwich coat of arms in enamel. Northwich claimed to have sent more men to South Africa than any district of its size, 300 from the immediate neighbourhood figuring during the war in 46 regiments.
