The building was declared 'redundant' by the Diocese in 2003 due to long-term structural weakness. A wonderful conversion was made by Neways Associates Ltd. who now have the building as their head office.www.newayspropertycare.co.uk/about.htmlwww.newayspropertycare.co.uk/vr_test.htmlThe Great War memorial window had to be removed though. The UKNIWM describes it as a three-light stained glass window with a figure in each light and three tracery lights at the top. Dedicatory description at the base. St George depicted in the left light, Christ depicted in the centre light and St Alban depicted in the right light. Faith, Hope and Charity depicted in the tracery lights at the top. Immediately above St George, Christ and St Alban are the inscriptions St George,Come unto me and St Alban.Before...
After...SERVICE SYMPATHY SACRIFICE
To the Glory of God this window is donated by the women workers of the church as a memorial to the 100 soldiers of this parish who died in the Great War 1914-1918The stained glass is still on-site.
Photos #2 and 9 are by me, the other seven are courtesy of Neways Associates Ltd. Many thanks.
