No Enrolments at Dent. An open-air recruiting meeting was held in Dent Market Place on Wednesday evening. Strong appeals were made by the chairman and by Messrs. W. Dyson and J. Mactavish. Mr. Hicks stated that he hoped to be employed very soon in mine sweeping, and Mr. Dyson stated that all his four sons were doing their share. Two were now in the trenches, and one has lost his life there. The youths of Dent were urged to join the colours. Lieut. Blakey was in attendance to enrol recruits, but so far with no result.
