color=blue]I find this to be rather an odd war memorial as it doesn't specifically read that it commemorates lives lost in war, only "our shared sacrifice during times of war" which could be read as referring to rationing as equally as to death. Perhaps the intent is to distance it from being a war memorial in the traditional sense.[/color]
