The church closed in 1978; there was a War Memorial Chapel inside and in the photo there can be seen, at either side of the screen behind the altar, at least four panels with names on. These were, presumably, the names of the WWI dead. The panels are either missing or lost.
There used to be a recording in the church's tower of a peal of bells and a 250mm x 300mm copper plaque inscribed "IN THE SERVICE OF GOD / THE RECORDED PEAL OF BELLS WAS / INSTALLED IN THE TOWER OF THIS CHURCH / TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE / OF ST THOMAS' CHURCH, SCHOOL AND PARISH / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE / GREAT WAR 1939 - 45 / AND WHOSE NAMES ARE INSCRIBED ON THIS PANEL".
The (reel-to-reel?) recording and the plaque seem to have been lost but the board with the names of the WWII survives.
