Apparently, the original plaque was stolen and later recovered from a scrap metal dealer's yard in a damaged condition; it was judged to be beyond repair and has been replaced at Whitehead Garden by a stone. So what is the plaque below which recently came into the possession of Bury Museum (photographed on 24.1.2012)? Could it be that two copies of the plaque were originally cast?
