MILITARY MEDAL FOR A CHORLEY SOLDIER.Pte. Charles Gent, Loyal North Lancs. Regt., whose home is 23, Pall Mall, Chorley, has been awarded the military medal for gallantry. He joined the Chorley Territorials on the outbreak of war. A letter has this week been received from Col. Hindle congratulating him on the distinction gained. Pte. Gent, who had formerly served in the King's Own, was wounded in the head in March last. He is now stationed at Blackpool. (Lancashire Daily Post, 6 January 1917)____________________________________________________________ CHORLEY SOLDIER'S D.C.M.Private Henry Hollinshead, D.C.M., Lancashire Fusiliers, King-street, Chorley, is at present on leave at Chorley, and on Monday next is to be presented with his decoration by the Mayor at the Council Chamber. Hollinshead is the father of eight children, the eldest 13 and the youngest two years old.
