8970 Private John Sibbald, 1st King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment). Killed in action on 20th November 1914, aged 25. Son of John and Mary Sibbald, of Chorley.
Information has been received that Private John Sibbald, of the Royal Lancaster Regiment, was killed in action on November 20th. Sibbald was a reservist, and completed his seven years with the regiment 14 months ago. He was employed as a detailer at the Birkacre Colliery, and resided with his married sister at 244, Moor-road, Chorley. Sibbald was 25 years old, and unmarried.
