A MINISTER ON THE WAR. - On Tuesday evening the Wesleyan Church was well filled to hear a lecture by the Rev. O. W. Watkin on "Experiences on the battle-field in South Africa." The rev. gentleman vividly described many of the scenes associated with the siege of Ladysmith, and of the sufferings and privation of the garrison; and his experiences among the wounded and the dying on battle-fields were very thrilling. For seventy minutes he thoroughly maintained the interest of his audience, and at the close he was heartily thanked for his address. The chair was occupied by Mr. W. C. Wood, J.P., of Brinscall Hall, who was supported by Mr. H. T. Parke and the Rev. J. Colliver Williams, and Mr. Wood's kindness in presiding was suitably acknowledged.
