COMMISSION FOR A LOCAL YEOMAN. Mr. G. P. R. Jacques (youngest son of the Rev. K. Jacques (rector of Brindle and Rural Dean of Leyland), who served for some time in South Africa with the Yeomanry (Duke of Lancaster's Own) has raised a commission in a new regiment, raised by Major Kemp, and proceeds to Aldershot at the beginning of next week. He will return to South Africa shortly. (Chorley Guardian, 4 January 1902)
